Four breaks, each with its own taste in swell. Colors show the rating right now at the hour you picked.

How we rate

A rating is never a number out of ten. It's one of five words, always in these colors, and it already accounts for the spot.

What goes into it

  1. Height at the spot, after its exposure to the swell
  2. Period, the seconds between waves. Longer means more power and better shape
  3. Wind. Offshore holds the waves up, onshore crumbles them
  4. The spot itself. Harbor Left needs long-period swell, Kibbutz Bay hides from the wind

Where the numbers come from

In a real version: offshore buoys and a wave model, updated every three hours, with the update time shown on every page. In this portfolio demo, the forecast is generated so the site has something believable to show.

Don't check. Get told.

Pick a spot and how good it has to be. When the forecast says yes, swell sends one message the evening before. That's it.
